Google has officially confirmed what has been rumored online for weeks: the Pixel 11 exists and will arrive with a visual innovation that promises to change the way users are notified. Through a page on its official store, the company has revealed not only the device design, but also a feature that has not been made public until now: the Pixel Glow, a light ring integrated directly into the rear camera module.

Pixel Glow: the surprise Google hid in the camera module

According to hipertextual.com, the star of the official teaser is this circular luminous band that replaces the space where the flash would traditionally be located. Instead of adding an external element to the phone's body, Google decided to embed it within the camera bar, positioning it to the right of the lenses.

Visually, the indicator displays a range of colors with smooth transitions, reminiscent of the spinning icon that appears in macOS when an application is processing a task. Although the company has not yet officially explained its function, everything suggests it will act as a visual signal for notifications: incoming calls, system updates or other events requiring user attention.

This design would be inspired by the Glyph of the Nothing Phone, the terminal from the British manufacturer that already experimented with integrated lighting in the rear module. In the case of the Pixel 11 Pro, the Pixel Glow would also replace the temperature sensor that current Pro series models have.

The specifications that will accompany the new light ring

Beyond the Pixel Glow, the leaks reveal a set of features that position the Pixel 11 as a demanding device. The processor will be the Tensor G6, the latest generation of Google's own chips, accompanied by RAM ranging from 8 GB to 16 GB depending on the chosen model.

On the display, Google will opt for generous sizes: 6.3 inches for the base model and 6.8 for the Pro variants, both with support for 120 Hz for a smoother visual experience. The design will be thinner than the previous generation, with a completely redesigned camera module.
