Google Pixel 11: massive leak exposes all specs and prices ahead of launch

Google has lost any element of surprise ahead of the Made by Google event scheduled for next Wednesday, August 12. A comprehensive new leak has exposed the technical specifications, design and prices of the Pixel 11, leaving few unknowns about the smartphones the California company is about to officially present. Although Google itself had already revealed some details through teasers, this information leak closes practically any remaining mystery.

Pixel Glow: the most notable visual change

As hipertextual.com reports, the Pixel 11 maintains a very similar aesthetic to the current 2025 generation, in both the base model and Pro variants. The real visual change comes with Pixel Glow, a multicolour notification indicator integrated into the camera module. This element replaces the temperature sensor that Google included in previous years' Pro models.

So far, Google has not revealed details on how exactly this indicator will work, although rumours suggest it will serve as a visual notification system. Users could receive alerts through colour changes without needing to turn on the screen, a feature that could prove practical in daily use.

New-generation specs with no major surprises

The rest of the innovations follow the usual pattern in each annual refresh: a renewed processor and logical performance improvements. Where there are more significant changes is in software. The Pixel 11 will arrive with Android 17 and, above all, with a greater focus on AI-powered features driven by Gemini, Google's artificial intelligence model.

The most controversial change affects storage: Google has eliminated the 128 GB option across the entire range, meaning the entry price of basic models will implicitly rise. Users will have to opt for at least 256 GB of storage capacity, with the additional cost that entails.

European prices set to rise

The leak has also exposed initial prices for the United States and Europe, although exact figures in euros are not included in the available material. What is clear is that the elimination of the 128 GB entry variant will make the entire range more expensive compared to previous generations. This is a pattern that repeats across the industry: each year, the entry price of flagship phones tends to increase.

An event with more than just phones

The event on August 12 will not be limited to the Pixel 11. Google will take the opportunity to launch more hardware: the Pixel Watch 5, its new smartwatch, and the Pixel Tag, its first object tracker designed to compete directly with Apple's AirTag and Motorola's Moto Tag.

With these exhaustive leaks, there is little room for surprising reveals at the official event. Google will have to rely on execution, practical demonstration of features and the overall appeal of its products to generate enthusiasm among attendees and the millions of users who will be watching the company's announcements.
