Silvia Alonso takes on romantic comedy with Álex González and Maxi Iglesias
Silvia Alonso is diving headfirst into Spain's most daring romantic comedy. After leaving behind the psychological suspense of 'La Caza', the actress stars in 'Si te he visto no me acuerdo', a project that promises to be the opposite of a conventional rom-com: brazen, ironic and contemporary, according to diezminutos.es. The film is already being shot in Donostia and will soon arrive in Spanish cinemas.
A love triangle with amnesia and billionaires involved
The plot is as juicy as it is promising for genre fans. Bea, Silvia Alonso's character, wakes up in a hospital with no memory of her recent moments. The surprise comes when she discovers she is engaged to Julen, an attractive billionaire played by Álex González, an actor Alonso has previously worked with in a Spanish series in the style of 'La casa de papel'.
Everything seems like a dream life: luxury, an apparently ideal partner and an imminent wedding. The problem is obvious: Bea doesn't remember being in love. Things become exponentially more complicated when Edu appears, embodied by Maxi Iglesias (the actor who recently made headlines for his romance with Aitana Sánchez-Gijón), who reveals an uncomfortable truth: Bea is not who she thinks she is, but a con artist.
From that moment on, the protagonist becomes trapped between two irreconcilable worlds: the comfort and elegance of a millionaire's life, or a return to a criminal past she has forgotten but which may still be part of her.
Dreamy references with a roguish touch
Director Mar Olid, with a long track record in television series such as Aída, Los Serrano, Un paso adelante and El vecino, has sought inspiration in the genre classics that marked generations. Her reference is clear:
- Pretty Woman
- My Best Friend's Wedding
- Something About Mary
- Notting Hill
- Love Actually
- Bridget Jones's Diary
However, 'Si te he visto no me acuerdo' does not imitate these models: it reinvents them. The film defines itself as a rom-com that "laughs at romanticism while celebrating it", playing with classic tropes to turn them on their head. There are impossible loves, misunderstandings, unexpected plot twists and a triangle with plenty of chemistry.
A heavyweight cast for an ambitious project
Beyond the main triangle, the film includes other actors who enrich the ensemble. Aitziber Garmendia, Maribel Salas and César Saratxu bring to life a peculiar family defined as very "ñoñostiarra", while Pepe Viyuela provides a special appearance that promises his usual doses of humour.
Mar Olid has shared details about the ingredients that make this story work: "two guys and a girl, a wedding, lots of luxury, family secrets, a very special sister... and a dog named Pompón". These are elements designed, according to the director, to make audiences laugh and connect emotionally with the story.
Silvia Alonso's leap into comedy
This project marks a significant shift in Silvia Alonso's career. After her forays into more dramatic and suspenseful territory, the actress now embraces the comedic register with a proposal that seems to straddle both traditional romance and light-hearted humour. The amnesiac nature of her character opens interesting narrative doors: Bea must reconstruct her identity from scratch, which allows for both humour and moments of greater emotional depth.
No exact release date has been announced yet, although the film is expected to arrive in cinemas in the coming months. An ambitious bet that arrives at a time when Spanish romantic comedies seem to be finding renewed interest among audiences. Will this roguish version manage to captivate national cinephiles?
